Biography
Dr. Ralph Joyce |
Dr. Ralph Joyce is a consultant based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
He has undertaken a broad range of statistical work for many clients, including helping Nunavut to establish a statistical office for the territory; advising the Office of the Auditor General of Canada regarding an audit of 2006 Census management; and serving as independent reviewer for a proposed enumeration of Saskatchewan Métis. Other clients have included the governments of Manitoba, British Columbia and Northwest Territories, as well as companies needing specialized statistical support.
In 2006, Dr. Joyce served as senior advisor and executive director for the FNSI Advisory Group. During that time, important strides were taken towards FNSI implementation, including drafting a corporate plan and establishing strong and positive relations with Statistics Canada.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Dr. Joyce was Territorial Statistician with the Government of Northwest Territories. In this capacity, he built and managed the NWT Bureau of Statistics, a highly capable statistical office respected both in the North and nationally, and worked closely with Statistics Canada to help ensure its programs and resulting statistics met NWT information needs.
